Denver Green Party Business Meeting Minutes

March 16th, 6:30pm, Park Hill Library
We met around a table upstairs in the Park Hill Library, which is east of Colorado Blvd. and City Park on Montview Blvd and Dexter.

Treasurer's Report
------------------
Meyer provided a status of the local's bank balance with $1053.69 in checking and $26.39 in savings for $1080.08 total. Meyer wrote a check to "Soiled Dove" for fundraiser deposit of $500 leaving $553.69 in checking.
Denver Library is changing its policy on reservations of rooms. It will require in June that all reservations be pre-paid. The DGP will need to determine where it will meet from July on in June.
Secretary's Report

The members accepted Kness as DGP secretary. Meeting minutes will be posted on the DGP website. Meyer will request for a "Meeting" link to be added to the DGP website that will list dates and minutes.
Delegates to the GPCO Convention
--------------------------------
The DGP needs to select delegates to the STATE GPCO nominating convention. Denver gets 6 delegates.
Meyer is getting list of Denver County registered voters from the county at the end of the month for $30.00. Chandler will get the number of registered Greens in Jefferson county and Kness will query Adams. Someone will need to follow up on Douglas and Arapahoe counties.
Chandler will announce that Jefferson Greens will conduct a separate meeting at the standard DGP meeting in April. They will choose a slate of delegates to the GPCO convention.

At the April 24th meeting, the delegates for the DGP and Jefferson locals will be choosen. Any interested persons should attend.
Kness is following up on how the Presidential candidate is added to the ballot via the State election ballot.
National Delegate

The process for selecting national delegates and what they represent (Cobb, Nader, uncommitted, no candidate, etc.) from Colorado to the Milwaukee June convention was discussed. Colorado can send 22 total delegates.
The following have expressed interest in being a delegate to the National Convention. Delegates will be funding their own trip.

Per Josh Liss of the State, we need to elect 9 electors to go with the Presidential nominees. Kness will place this on the State convention agenda, and will follow up with the State on the Presidential nomination form and rules.
State and Local Candidates

The DGP has recognized that the State convention must determine how the party meets the requirements HB03-1142.
Bruce Meyer is still determining if he will run for his CO House Seat.
Any other interested person should attend the April 24th DGP meeting for the requried nomination to state. We need to review the rules on petitioning a person on to the ballot.
Maynard believes there are several county commissioner positions.
Fundraising concert

April 3rd - Soiled Dove, downtown Denver.
Need:
Public Service announcement, need to send to radio stations. Maynard to contact Marr for help.
Persons to flyer upcoming Blue Grass concerts. Whitley will send out list of dates/location.
Need volunteers to register voters/give out info prior to concert.
Statewide fundraising campaign.

"Green and Growing" 20/20/2004 - 6 committed donor. Meyer is moving forward with the campaign.
Denver Grocery CO-OP

Steve Braun, who is with the Denver CO-OP Grocery, provide information on their endeavor. They are seeks members. Their website is www.denvercoop.com. He said they are currently flyering for their cause, and can help us. He asked if the CO-OP could attended the Soiled Dove fundraiser, and hand out litrature. The members present agreed to have them present.
