Agenda
======
1. New meeting place - Comments
In general, comments were positive about the new location for the
meetings. The only problem was with the noise level. When the DGP/JG
members had scoped out the location, it was in the mornings on weekends
and it was quiet. On Tuesday, it was busy all night with at least
50 people there. According to the staff at Paris on the Platte, this
was very typical for a summer evening. So we are still open to another
location that provides free parking, is open at least until 10:00pm,
and is easily accessible. Though for August, it can always be our
location if another is not found. It was also briefly suggested that
we could switch the day of the meeting to something like 10:00am on
a Saturday. Nothing has been decided.
Greg Marsh suggested checking out:
Lucia's Casa De Cafe
3301 Tejon
Denver, CO 80211
(303) 433-4626
It is a little west of the Paris on the Platte.
2.
DGP Officer changes / responsibility transitions
With Bruce Meyer and Rick VanWie needing to change their responsibilities
due to personal reasons, the officers of the DGP were changed. The
following positions were accepted by the meeting attendees.
Co-Chair - Rick VanWie, stacy.rick@juno.com
Co-Chair - Lanny Kness, lannykness@comcast.net
Secretary -
Treasurer -
Coalition and Diversity -

Discuss List moderator - Allen Butcher, allen80207@qwest.net
We still need to fill these other positions, and are looking for willing
individuals. Please contact a Co-Chair for information.
Meyer will work with the new Treasurer on the transition. Klafehn
pointed out the DGP signature card at bank needs change.
Current DGP State Council Reps are:
Bruce Meyer
Sunny Maynard
Tom Kelly
Rick VanWie
3.
JG Website
Holcomb has registered the name jeffcogreens.org for the Jeffco greens.
Chandler and Holcomb will work on building and getting hosted a Jeffco
website. When up, the DGP website will add a link to it. Chandler
also mentioned the need of the JG to establish a bank account in order
to legitimize the local to the county government.
4.
Publicizing business meeting
The proposal was to use all available free outlets to publicize the
DGP/JG meetings in order to recruit members. This was agreed to as
a good idea, but needs to be done when the location is fixed. Action
on this item will wait until possibly the next meeting.
5.
Fundraising - phoning Greens
The proposal, which was a continuation from last meeting, was to try
and contact all Greens located in the DGP/JG area. It will work by
having Kness be the organizer, who will send out emails to volunteers
to call registered Greens. The goal is to have a volunteer call 7
people a week, and respond back to Kness via email. The primary goal
is to make contact, with a secondary goal of getting volunteers and
or donations. The idea was agreed upon as a joint JG / DGP effort.
Kness will get a group together to start this.
6.
DGP Email Proposal
Allen Butcher brought a proposal on how to handle the DGP email lists.
This caused a large discussion on the topic. A summary of the decisions
on this were:
1)
The DGP will establish a new "DGP/JG business list". It
will be open to any registered Green in the DGP/JG area. Any members
of the list will be able to post to it. Its subject matter will
be limited to local chapter business like discuss of proposals,
event planning, etc. Rules of etiquette and subject matter will
need to be established for this list.
2) The DGP Announce List will remain as is, which is a moderated
list.
3) The DGP discuss list will remain an open list to anyone who abides
by rules of etiquette. A system of notifying the moderator that
a person's actions on the list was established. Via Yahoo's polling
system, list members can notify the moderator of a problem, and
the moderator has the ability to remove anyone from the list. A
remove can be appealed in the next DGP/JG business meeting. Butcher
will establish and post this process on the discuss list. This process
will be reviewed in the future for its effectiveness.
7.
Recap from the GPUS Convention
The group heard about the convention and talked about it.
8.
